Our WV Chaos ’98 girls won the "University of Charleston Indoor Tournament" on Sunday February 1st. This newly formed U10 girls team coached by Ashleigh Woods continues to shine as they competed in their 2nd tournament together after finishing runner up in the "Hot Winter Knights" tournament just two weeks ago at Cabell Midland High School. This tournament will be one to remember. The Chaos ’98 girls shut out the competion in Game 1 with a score of 2-0 with a solid performance by goalie Lake Porter and  then went on to take Game 2 winning 6-3  which quickly secured them a spot in the Championship based on points, where they would take on "The Wild Open Girls". This game came down to the wire. With eleven minutes left in the game, the Chaos trailed 3-1 but the girls remained focused as they rallied together and with a goal by Elena Pomponio, they were within 1. With less than two minutes left in the game, a goal by Taylor Mink tied the game 3-3 sending this Championship game into overtime. After the first overtime period, the girls were still tied 3-3 but a game winning goal by Baylee Womack in the first minute of the second overtime period ends the game, giving this WV Chaos team their first Championship.

The girls will travel to Morgantown next weekend to compete in the "2009 Winter Shoot-Out" where they will compete in a  bracket consisting of teams from the Northern part of the state along with teams from OH and PA.
